According to the Pokedex, despite Espathra's beautiful appearance, it has a vicious temperament. In the Pokemon anime, we see one (1) wild Espathra... and what did it do? It antagonized three Farigiraf and held its own in a 1 V 3 matchup. While it can emit psychic powers (similar to how Anasui uses his Stand), it can also sprint at speeds greater than 120mph. Espathra will hunt you down and maul you, not unlike how Anasui will punch you in the face and make sure you never get the chance to mess with him again if you get in his way.

Additionally, the species-specific ability for Espathra is Opportunist, which raises the stats of Espathra when the opponent boosts its stats. It's a niche skill that matches Anasui's adaptive personality and reflects the different, unusual punishments he deals his enemies. And it's ideal for violence. Espathra is not a kind bird.

As of the 1st of June 2025, Anasui now has his hat, seen in his icon. This accessory is imbued with a special power: While defending friends or teammates, it makes them stronger.
