According to the Pokedex, despite Espathra's beautiful appearance, it has a vicious temperament. In the Pokemon anime, we see one (1) wild Espathra... and what did it do? It antagonized three Farigiraf and held its own in a 1 V 3 matchup. While it can emit psychic powers (similar to how Anasui uses his Stand), it can also sprint at speeds greater than 120mph. Espathra will hunt you down and maul you, not unlike how Anasui will punch you in the face and make sure you never get the chance to mess with him again if you get in his way.
Additionally, the species-specific ability for Espathra is Opportunist, which raises the stats of Espathra when the opponent boosts its stats. It's a niche skill that matches Anasui's adaptive personality and reflects the different, unusual punishments he deals his enemies. And it's ideal for violence. Espathra is not a kind bird.
As of the 1st of June 2025, Anasui now has his hat, seen in his icon. This accessory is imbued with a special power: While defending friends or teammates, it makes them stronger.

CURRENT CHARACTERS: N/A
CHARACTER
NAME: Narciso Anasui
CANON: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
CANON POINT: Post-death
BACKGROUND: Here. CW: Fictional Depiction of OCD, American Prison Systems, Death, Self-Harm/Attempted Suicide, Body Horror (Some of the images are uncensored!)
SUITABILITY: Some people may not consider Anasui good anywhere without his love interest in sight: He despises people, doesn't care about what others think of him and also doesn't care about doing the right thing. However, at the end of the series, he claims that he was made a better person by Jolyne and wants to be a man she can be proud of. And what better place can he do it than a new world? Especially a new world where Jolyne Kujo isn't presently in?
Bottlecap Bay is ideal because it's light-hearted enough to let Anasui let down his guard a little but also deals in dark themes, which JJBA doesn't shy away from either. I think he'd be suited here because there are lots of opportunities for him to try to be a better man as promised, and lots of opportunities to engage with the setting. Anasui is smart, analytical and will complete anything he sets his mind to if given enough incentive, even if that incentive is self-preservation. I'm hoping that, while he's not going to be the best person, he becomes someone who more easily is part of a community, not just acting for the idea of what Jolyne wanted.
QUESTIONNAIRE:
Anasui will default to ignoring the problem. Since Anasui has been put on a quest, he's going to ensure that the quest gets done and he'll try to do that with minimal interruptions. However, when it becomes evident that the Pokemon in distress will pose a risk to the characters, Anasui will pause and let his teammates come up with a plan. However, if the plan isn't satisfactory to Anasui (being impractical, self-sacrificing or generally stupid), or if his teammates take too long to even come up with a plan, he will act himself once he is finished analysing the situation.
If the opponent is notably weaker, assuming the Pokemon is still a threat (and Anasui has been told not to outright murder the injured Pokemon), he will try to knock the Pokemon out himself. However, if he isn't held back, he will go for a OKO because it's the most practical solution. Anasui is just going to keep hitting until the enemy is out of the way. He doesn't care what happens after that.
However, if the other Pokemon is assessed to be much stronger, Anasui will start formulating a plan with his teammates to try and take the opponent down. Anasui is known for his... creative solutions to disarming enemies and he will make liberal use of the environment, items, and his teammates strengths and weaknesses to try and take down the enemy. The solution is always going to be fighting but how direct the fighting and if Anasui goes in alone will depend on what sort of foe he's against.
Honestly... it depends on who we define as the 'worst enemy'. Anasui despises traitors and untrustworthy people- so his ex-girlfriend who cheated on him is one of his worst enemies and he would default to 'disassembling her' (which isn't an option here but Anasui is tempted to try). If it's his other worst enemy (the antagonist of Stone Ocean and someone somebody could reasonably app) Anasui is going to growl and... still try to attack them. Because this guy killed him twice and killed Jolyne!
However, while Anasui is vengeful, Anasui isn't an idiot by any means. He knows that he needs the guild's cooperation to get anything done in the town. While he may deploy the cassowary's tried and true technique of trying to disembowel the enemy, he may only try to hit him once and then back off. He’ll curse out his enemy and tell him to do it on his own. He would also likely complain to his castmates or trusted allies and begin warning people to stay away from that 'traitorous monster'.
Note: I'm completely aware of the tension risks if someone apps Father Pucci and I'm prepared to work with them to avoid troubles for the other's RP. Anasui may fail to accurately describe Pucci or his name because he's salty he died to him twice. Additionally, Anasui can be told to play nice and he will try to... well... be less hostile.
"Fine. Let's do it already. But if it ends up hurting Emporio in any way, you'll regret asking me."
Regardless of which leader asks Anasui, he probably will agree to the terms on the spot. Honestly, it's impractical not to: All these goods in exchange for a single favor? Man, it's just like being in prison all over again. Jokes aside, Anasui is no stranger to doing shady or heinous acts, and while Anasui only hurts people he thinks deserves it, he's pragmatic enough to weigh the risks against the reward. Regardless of what gets asked, it's probably worth it. He does think it's stupid they aren't telling him upfront though.
Anasui defines 'hurting' as physical harm. For example if Emporio gets hurt emotionally or financially... sorry kid. You can deal. However, I am hoping that eventually Anasui can at least pause if someone's emotions or livelihoods are threatened. Additionally, I'm aiming for Anasui to one day increase the number of those he is mindful of. To see him show concern not just for one castmate but an actual group of people he trusts and values.
Also, if the plan does sound stupid to Anasui (being unlikely to work in his assessment), he'll try to propose a better solution or some ideas that may help the plan actually work. If the leader is stubborn, Anasui will just walk away. Or start clawing. Depends on his mood.
Man, it's desperate if you have to resort to Anasui. Anasui will choose the third option: go gather a team of volunteers (preferably the most able-bodied Pokemon outside the clinic) and go out himself for extra food. Sure, it's food for a whole city, but Anasui trusts in his own abilities and in the abilities of people who are determined enough to make a difference. Anasui figures people who are willing to double-up on work are better to get than people who need to be taken out of the Pokemon Clinic.
Anasui won't vocalise it because it's gross and unethical but... Anyone could also resort to cannibalism. Not everyone can be a doctor. Worst case scenario, the food crisis can sort itself so... Honestly, it's more practical to keep your medical professionals attending to the sick.
POKEMON: Espathra. There are a few reasons for this Pokemon. Firstly, Anasui fits the psychic type niche in general, being both enigmatic, intelligent and introspective. However, he also has a wilder side, much like Espathra. According to the Pokedex, despite Espathra's beautiful appearance, it has a vicious temperament. In the Pokemon anime, we see one (1) wild Espathra... and what did it do? It antagonized three Farigiraf and held its own in a 1 V 3 matchup. It's a niche skill that matches Anasui's adaptive personality and reflects the different, unusual punishments he deals his enemies. And it's ideal for violence. Espathra is not a kind bird.
I would also like Anasui to start with Ally Switch as one of his moves, despite it being an egg move for Espathra. Ally Switch ensures that the opponent hits him, not his partner, which is very much what Anasui does during the end-game of Stone Ocean. Despite his attitude, Anasui is very willing to take lethal or near-lethal blow meant to hurt his allies. I think it would be neat for Anasui to have it because it is something his body will know how to do instinctively (Also being one of the few born-Stand Users in Stone Ocean, it would be nice to have that reflected in starting with an egg move).
Also, Espathra doesn't have hands so it will be neat playing with how Anasui has to adapt and get creative with fighting and disassembling things.
GUILD OPT-OUT: Cheri.Mostly because Anasui would think Ribombee is a cult leader and throw hands. Figuratively.
I feel that Anasui would be a good fit for Lum. The Lum Guild's Values most align with Anasui's as a whole. Anasui values his closest allies above other people. Despite everything that would scream that Anasui is a defender (and he is!), Anasui would definitely clash with Oran (and Mightyena) because they're driven by the heart and a sense of justice. Anasui is not. He may be violent and aggressive but he always thinks before he acts. He analyzes a situation, breaks it down, and then implements what he thinks is most practical. Anasui doesn't care about being nice but he does want to make sure things get done and it's that ruthlessness that puts a lot of people off of him. He also values knowledge! He reads a lot and will probably be looming in the background overseeing shit.
Note: Regardless of which group he gets put in, he's going to try to break in and live with Emporio. Anasui stayed in Emporio's room in prison and he's gonna try to continue staying in his comfy room.Everyone is free to violently throw him out.

QUESTIONNAIRE:
⟡ Your character is on an exploration quest when they find an injured Pokemon in need of help. This Pokemon appears to be in distress and is quite dangerous, posing a risk to your character even if they mean well, and putting your quest mission at risk. What do they do? What are some possibilities of how they work with teammates to address this, or do they go at it alone?
Anasui will default to ignoring the problem. Since Anasui has been put on a quest, he's going to ensure that the quest gets done and he'll try to do that with minimal interruptions. ⟡ Your character's worst enemy has recently appeared in game, and has joined the guild your character is part of. They both want to tackle the same quest, and your character's enemy suggests that they work together as a team to accomplish this goal. How does your character respond to this?
Honestly... it depends on who we define as the 'worst enemy'. Anasui despises traitors and untrustworthy people- so his ex-girlfriend who cheated on him is one of his worst enemies and he would default to 'disassembling her' (which isn't an option here but Anasui is tempted to try). ⟡ The leader of your character's guild has just approached your character with an offer: they will provide your character with extra supplies, reputation points, and help them with any of their current struggles. In exchange, they ask for your character to do a favor for them that may harm the other guilds, and will not specify what the favor is in advance. It sounds shady, but it's the deal of a lifetime in your character's path to get back home, and refusing it may cause strife for your character within their current guild. What do they think of this offer? What do they ultimately decide to do?
"Fine. Let's do it already. But if it ends up hurting Emporio in any way, you'll regret asking me."
Regardless of which leader asks Anasui, he probably will agree to the terms on the spot. Honestly, it's impractical not to: All these goods in exchange for a single favor? ⟡ Due to shortages on supplies, the city is facing issues deciding where to cut corners during this rough time. Somehow, the responsibility has fallen on your character's shoulders, and they have to make a decision. If they send out an extra team of Pokemon, they will be able to gather more food, and through that, save the lives of dozens of starving Pokemon that were in dire need of nutrition. However, the only Pokemon available to scout for food are those working at the pokeclinic, and sending them out would mean certain death for at least two ill patients. What does your character decide to do? How do they feel about this choice, and how would they deal with the pushback that comes from either side?

Hi, I'm Pyra and
Anasui DOES have a criminal record and comes from a violent series (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) so let me know here if you'd rather not talk to him or avoid certain topics. Some opt-outs include:
- Violence. Anasui is directly violent to those he considers a life-threatening threat or in the way of his goals. Note: while combat will be discussed in advance, please mention if you want me to avoid graphic descriptions in general.
- Backstory mentions. Anasui's backstory mentions severe OCD, the American Prison System and the violent murder of a man and woman. This is on top of the graphic content featured in JJBA.
- Spoilers (will be marked but you can use this page to opt-out anyway)
- Anything missing here. RP is for everyone's enjoyment and I want to do my part! Let me know if you feel I've missed something.
Alternatively, let me know how I'm playing this freak of a man.
